The Good Red Earth #1
oil on wood panel w/painted brass edging, 34 x 18 1/4”, 2003 (portal shape without rectangular frame)
I had heard a Native American reference to our path on this Earth as “The Good Red Road” which somehow I remembered as “The Good Red Earth” and so red became the undercoat of many paintings, a new embracing warmth in the background of my life.
